New itSMF International web site : www.itsmf.org

toutes les informations

The Board of itSMF International is very pleased to announce that the new itSMF International web site www.itsmf.org has just been launched.  This is a major step forward in improving communications with you, the Chapters and we will be expanding its scope and features as time permits.

The Board is also making good progress in establishing our position following the latest announcements from OGC on the CAR tender.  Discussions were held in London a week ago with the involved parties and these focussed on the continued involvement of itSMF with these commercial activities, as well as the ITIL refresh program.

As you know, OGC has announced that the APM Group and The Stationery Office (TSO) are the preferred bidders for Lots 1 & 3 (principally qualifications) and Lots 2 & 4 (publications) respectively and have entered into a contract negotiation phase, with contracts expected to be awarded by mid to late July.  OGC and both these organisations have confirmed that they want itSMF to continue to play a significant role.  At the same time it should be noted that other organisations are also considering their options for the future.

Our main objectives are to protect the ITIL and itSMF brands, to ensure that the best interests of our members and the industry continue to be met and that the contributions being made by itSMF are formally recognised and appropriately recompensed.  To that end we have asked the APM Group to draw up a Memorandum of Understanding that documents our role and responsibilities in the qualifications area, together with a funding model.  We are also asking for a similar formal commitment from TSO.

The Board expects to have these details over the next week and we will then present them to you for your review and comments, as they will be the basis of our position and involvement in the ongoing development of and support for ITIL and the IT Service Management industry.  This will still leave us open to other opportunities that may arise in the future.

We are going through a critical period and some tough decisions may need to be made.  We therefore ask for your cooperation and patience while we complete our review of the best way forward for the itSMF community, for which we will seek true win/win outcomes.

Best regards,

Brian
